Alternative Energy Development Board (AEDB) & Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) jointly organized an exhibition

Chakwal: April 7- Alternative Energy Development Board (AEDB) & Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) jointly organized an exhibition in collaboration with Zarai Agriculture Research Institute, Chakwal and Renewable/alternative Energy Association of Pakistan (REAP) at the Institute’s premises here yesterday
The ZTBL displayed various types of agriculture implements that help improve agriculture out puts and facilitate crop harvesting, while preserving the natural look of different agriculture produced. The ZTBL also demonstrated drip, sprinkle, tunnel and flood irrigation techniques that give better results with less water. The ZTBL experts also displayed biodiesel extracted from Sukhchain seeds. The ZTBL also demonstrated pitcher irrigation technique, which was in vogue 5-thousands years back in Persia (now Iran); the technique had been revived in India in the past decades.

The ZTBL has been helping farmers to use better quality seeds, and latest techniques for cultivation, irrigation and harvesting, which results in better crops with minimum outputs, including water.

Through the exhibition the farmers were informed of various alternative/ renewable energy technologies for agriculture and domestic use, which would help enhance their agriculture yields and improve their living with negligible cost in long run.

The REAP member companies set up their stalls, and displayed a number of alternative energy gadgets like solar water pumping, solar lighting, solar water heating, solar water purification, solar cooking etc.

The Exhibition was visited by a large number of researchers, academia, agriculturists, media persons and business and student communities. They took keen interest in the practical application of renewable/alternative energy for agricultural and domestic purposes.

The ZTBL also organized a workshop in collaboration with Zarai Agriculture Research Institute, Chakwal, where ZTBL and the Institute’s senior officials/experts explained new production techniques and mechanized harvesting and use of solar energy for irrigation purposes for better yield of various crops in arid areas of the country.
